The homerun derby had more interesting story lines but the all star game had it’s cool moments as well. Now the AL has won the all star game 9 years in a row and are looking for their 10 straight next year. This round you wanted to believe they Pujols could have his magic keep going and make it to finals. Pujols put up a nice number of 15 homeruns but that it just not enough to keep Soto down. Soto with his beautiful left-handed swing hit 16 homeruns ending Pujols’ run and finishing his career in the derby. It was cool t see everyone gather around Pujols and it showed that everyone had respect for the man for what he has done and it was a special moment.
I think Alonso it a good guy but I think he just looked bad. Thats funny, I play fantasy sports, but I never even noticed there was a fantasy forum here. Plus, there are hundreds of fantasy sports forums, but this is one of the only places I know of where people can discuss the trivial aspects of any given sports uniform. The special Memorial Day, July 4 and All-Star caps and jerseys are not new, but Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are new additions.

But anyway i think its nice to see teams have their own unique style even if they are block numbers. There is significant difference in the a's and Giants Block numbers. The A's are more skinny and Long, While the Giants are shorter and wider. I'm sure someone with more credibility can prove this point, unless my eyes are bad and there is no difference.... I suppose you could say that people who frequent this board are hardly your "average" fan. Didn't see this posted anywhere else and a search for derby only brought up the caps thread and a soccer thread .
With the Homerun derby being over and the all star game finishing up, I would like to cover what happened in both events and give an overview of the results. Both were very entertaining events although these years all star game was okay. I will cover the homerun derby then cover the all star game.

On a night when we’re hoping Trevor Story makes a bit of history himself, a black vest would not be a bad choice. A bit old school, certainly, but clearly distinctive. In the first inning, Ohtani got a hit up the middle off of Clayton Kershaw but he got picked off at first. In the bottom of the first Acuna hit a ground rule double down the left field line off of Shane McClanahan. Next Mookie Betts hit a single up the middle to score Ronald Acuna. After that, Andres Gimenez made a great play to get a double play on Machado.
But Paul Goldschmidt it a god so he hit a solo homerun. In the second, Alek Manoah struck out the side while on mic. In the 4the, Joe Ramirez singled off of Tony Gonsolin. Right after that, Byron Buxton hit a ball out which was at his eyes. In the Bottom of the 9the, with the AL being up 3-2 Clase struck out the side in order to end the game.
